Ratner's Dairy Restaurant, 111 2nd Ave., Manhattan (page 342)
Liz Margoshes writes: When I was a child I took piano lessons at the Third Street Settlement House Music School which, at the time (1958-1960) was actually on E. 3rd Street (now it's on E.11 St.). We lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and every Saturday morning my father would drive me to my music lesson and then go to Ratner's [2nd Ave. branch], where he would eat cheese blintzes and read the newspaper by himself. He said it was the best part of his week.
